Day 7 - Nosferatu Blood Orange Gin

So, do you like the sight of blood? Love a good Vampire flick? Wonder where it all began?

Well, look no further. We bring you the Nosferatu Blood Orange Gin. This gin is bought to you by a third generation distiller from South Carolina, plying their trade in a hidden cellar in Melbourne (firkin hipsters). Clearly a fan of the classics, the distillery is named after the 1922 film Nosferatu, based on Dracula by Bram Stoker - a truly original classic.

Using Albanian juniper berries (they have castles in Albania), and my favourite Indian spice Fenugreek, plus lots of oranges (somewhat surprisingly Navel oranges). The process they use, sees the oranges steeping for 27 hours, after which all that is left of them are "white corpses" - very on point. Also on point, the gin is meant to be very forward in flavour, with a bite at the end. Be careful not to be drawn into the spell....

Just like the film, this gin is also set to become a classic after winning the best gin in Australia 2018.

In any case, enjoy this with a dash of Blood Orange Soda (you decide how much) and a garnish of.... wait for it..... blood orange!
