For your Christmas Eve tipple we offer the Farmers Wife - Autumn Dry Gin. Expect this update to be rather boring as I am struggling to find inspiration for my write up. Normally I can find something quirky or unique to discuss, but alas nothing. Even the owners of the distillery sound like a really pleasant Australian farming team, nothing to pick on there. So boring it is. Please feel free to take to WhatsApp to offer something a little more on point for the write up of the gin.
The Farmers Wife is relatively new on the gin scene, but is gaining a strong a loyal following thanks to their familiar but bold flavours. They use a sugarcane spirit, which is more neutral and allows the flavours of the gin to dominate more.
The Autumn Dry Gin is a grapefruit forward number, that comes in at a super hot 48%. Refreshing and impactful.
Our recommended mixer is soda water, so the flavour is all gin.
As an added bonus this distiller offers this Christmas recipe for a "Cherry Christmas":
- 45ml Farmers Wife Autumn Dry Gin
- 30ml Maraschino liqueur
- 15ml lemon juice
- Good quality soda
- 3 cherries (fresh or maraschino for a sweeter version)
- Sprig rosemary
Build over an ice filled glass and top with soda. Garnish with cherries and a sprig of rosemary.
Wishing everyone a fantastic Christmas for tomorrow!
